Martin was a graduate of the Catholic University of America. He served in the U.S. Army form 1941-1945. He was a Capitol Policeman for four years. Martin was a Supervisor for the Social Security Administration for 30 years. He is a member of the Third Order Dominican. JAMES J. CORR, age 84. of Lansdale, died March 11, 2010, at Edgehill Nursing Home in Glenside, where he had been a resident since 2007. He was preceded in death by his beloved wife almost exactly one month ago on the 10th of February. Born in Philadelphia he was the son of the late John and Rose McLaughlin Corr. Mr. Corr worked as a metalurgist for 40 years at Standard Press Steel in Jenkintown. He was a graduate of Girard College, class of 1943, and attended Temple University, where he majored in English. Mr. Corr was a member of St. Stanislaus Church in Lansdale and St. Raymond's Church, in Mt. Airy where he served as a Boy Scout Leader and Usher. He was a Commander and Chaplain in the Lansdale VFW. Mr. Corr had a distinguiished military career. He served his country valiantly with the U.S. Army during World War II as a member of the 101st Airborne Division. He was awarded the Purple Heart and the Silver Star for his bravery in battle in the vicinity of Recogne, Belgium. He was also injured in Holland during Operation Market Garden and again in the Battle of the Bulge near Bastogne. Belgium, for which he was awarded the Purple Heart and Oak Cluster. He is survived by his daughter Rosemay Corr of Flourtown, his son Paul J. Corr of Oxford, England, his sister, Eileen Williams and her husband, Lou, of Kensington, Md., his sister-in-laws, Dorothy Corr and Bea Corr. In addition to his wife, he was preceded in death by his daughter Patricia Ellen Rita Corr in 1984, four brothers, Eugene, Frank, Joseph, and John as well as a grandson LCPL Joseph B. Maglione, III United States Marine Corp in 2003 during Operation Iraqi Freedom in Kuwait. Relatives and friends are invited to call Thursday, March 18, 2010 from 9 to 10:15 a.m. at the Simcox-McIlvaine Funeral Home, in Lansdale and to attend his Funeral Mass at St. Stanislaus Church, 51 Lansdale Ave., Lansdale, Pa. 19446 at 10:30. MARY V. CORR, age 83. of Lansdale. died Feb. 10, 2010, at Edgehill Nursing Home in Glenside, where she had been a resident since 2007. Born in Philadelphia, she was the daughter of the late James and Mary McIntyre. Mrs. Corr had worked as a clerk for the Philadelphia Navy Yard during WW2 and later worked for Zenith, Bell Tel and IMS Health in Plymouth Meeting. She is survived by her beloved husband of 61 years, James J. Corr. Mrs. Corr was a member of St. Stanislaus Catholic Church in Lansdale. She was also active in Girl Scouts of America as a den mother in East Oak Lane and as a scout leader with the Junior Cadets and in Senior Scouting at St. Stanislaus Church and Trinity Lutheran Church, both in Lansdale. Also surviving is her daughter Rosemay R. Corr of Flourtown and her son Paul J. Corr of Oxford, England. She was preceded in death by her daughter Patricia Ellen Rita Corr in 1984 and her grandson Joseph B. Maglione, III, of the United States Marine Corr in Iraq in 2003. Relatives and friends are invited to call on Thursday, February 18th from 9 to 10:15 a.m. at the Simcox-McIlvaine Funeral Home, and to attend her Funeral Mass at St. Stanislaus Church on Thursday at 10:30 a.m. Interment at a later date in Arlington National Cemetery. FRANCIS T. COYLE, 83, of Hatfield, died April 1, 2010, at Cambridge Brightfield in Lansdale, surrounded by his loving family. He had valiantly battled merkel cell carcinoma. He was the beloved husband of Phyllis Coyle, who died in 2000. Born in Lost Creek, he was the son of the late Matthew and Margaret (Barrett) Coyle. He was a graduate of St. Claire High School in St. Claire, and attended St. Michaels College in Santa Fe, Virginia Military Institute, Temple, and St. Joseph’s Universities and then graduated from LaSalle University. Mr. Coyle worked as a chemist with the EPA in Los Almos and as a Radiaton Scientist with the Cabot Corp. He served his country courageously with the Army in the 31st Infantry Division. Mr. Coyle received the Bronze Star for heroic actions in Battle. He was a member of St. Stanislaus Church in Lansdale. Surviving are his two loving daughters, Patricia Criner, of Roanoke, VA and Dolores Coyle of Lansdale; eight grandchildren; 13 great-grandchildren; as well as numerous nieces and nephews. In addition to his wife he was preceded in death by a daughter Phyllis Jennifer Cox in October of 2009; three brothers, Joseph, James and Edward Coyle; and a sister, Peggy Coyle. Relatives and friends are invited to attend his Funeral Mass Tuesday, April 6, at 11AM at St. Stanislaus Church, 51 Lansdale Ave., Lansdale, where the family will receive friends before Mass from 10 to 11 AM. KENNETH R. "DOC" DOHERTY, of Telford, passed away surrounded by family and friends at the Hospital of the University of Pennsylvania, Tuesday March 30, 2010. Born December 22, 1950 in Philadelphia, he was the son of the late Mary and Otto Schenk. He graduated from Olney High School in 1968 and served in the Vietnam War for the United States Army, earning a Purple Heart resulting in his Honorable Discharge in 1970. Doc was a volunteer fire fighter in Palmyra, NJ, for 5 years. He worked for the United States Postal Service in Devon for 29 years, and was a longtime member of the National Postal Mail Handlers Union 308. He was known for his devotion to his family, his work ethic, his tenacious spirit and his love of the Philadelphia Eagles. He and his friends have been season ticket holders for 39 years. He fought through and survived many illnesses over the past 30 years, and was known by his doctors as “Ironman.” Doc is survived by his beloved wife of 29 years, Kathleen (Fitzgerald) Doherty; his daughter, Kate Doherty; son Kenny; and sister Ann (Schenk) Iadicicco. Relatives, friends and coworkers are invited to attend his viewing Monday evening, April 5, from 7 to 9PM, at St. Maria Goretti Church, Cowpath and Derstine Rds., in Hatfield and again Tuesday morning April 6, from 9 to 10:45AM followed by his Funeral Mass at 11AM.
