LEON E. SOWISDRAL, SR., January 11, 2011. Veteran of the Korean War. Recipient of the Combat Infantry Badge and Purple Heart. After 35 years of government service, Leo retired from the Post Office in 1987. Leo loved to camp, travel, play golf and teach children to swim. He was the beloved husband of Rose (nee Straface); dear father of Laura Anne Schmidt (Kim), Leon Jr. (Joelle), Rose Marie Cohen (Norm) and Ken (Lynda); loving grandfather of 12 and great grandfather of 5; also survived by his brother, William Sowisdral Sr.; many nieces and nephews.
