WANDA J. TOWNSEND, age 92, of Lansdale, died at home Friday, October 28, 2011. She had been in failing health for the last month. Mrs. Townsend was the beloved wife of the late Edwin H. Townsend, Sr. Born in Philadelphia she was the daughter of the late Frank and Anna (Gogola) Dusza. In addition to being a homemaker, she was a longtime employee of American Olean Tile and Clemens Supermarket in Lansdale. She was a member of St. Stanislaus Church where she helped at many Parish functions, including bingo and the summer festivals. Mrs. Townsend happily volunteered at both St. Stan's and Lansdale Catholic's Cafeterias. She was a Charter Member of La Crest Health Club. In her younger years she enjoyed gardening, canning, biking, fishing, going to the beach and collecting shells. In her later years she enjoyed traveling and spending time with her children and grandchildren. She is survived by two sons, Edwin H. Townsend, Jr. and his wife Diane of Hatfield and Richard Townsend and his wife Michelle of Harleysville, two daughters, Patricia Greloch of Townsend, Delaware and Barbara Walko and her husband John of North Wales, 9 Grandchildren, 17 great-grandchildren and 4 great-great-grandchildren, 3 sisters, Frances Hunsberger and her husband Robert of Hatfield and twin sisters Emma Nyce and her husband John of Collegeville and Eleanor Kunz of Schwenksville, 1 brother, Edward Dusza of Sellersville and a sister-in-law Mary Lou Dusza of Harleysville. She was preceded in death by a grandson Jeremy Walko, a son-in-law, Tony Greloch, daughter-in-law, Kathleen Townsend, 5 sisters Jean, Vera, Helen, Josephine and Laura, and 3 brothers, John, Walter, and Frank. Relatives and friends are invited to attend her Funeral Mass on Friday, November 4th at 11 AM. at St. Stanislaus Church, 51 Lansdale Ave., Lansdale where the family will receive friends from 10 to 11 AM before Mass. BEATRICE A. VERDONE, age 86, on November 24, 2011, of East Falls, Philadelphia. daughter of the late Peter and Filomena (Matteo) Mazzeo. Beloved wife of the late Eugene R. Verdone. Loving Mother of daughters, Nancy M. Dennison and her husband, Ron; Carol R. Flanagan and her husband, Steve, and son, Steve P. Verdone and his wife Dianne, all of East Falls. Also survived by brother-in-law Charles Moore and sister-in-law Jeanne Verdone. 15 grandchildren and 23 great grandchildren as well as many nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by two sons, Gene R. Jr. and Paul John Verdone Moore. DOROTHY D. (Donovan) WALSH, formerly of Huntingdon Valley, passed away on January 19, 2012. She was 88. She was the beloved wife to the late Joseph P. Walsh. She was the dear mother of Cathy, Joe Jr., Dorothy Saurter (Bill). Mary Montagnon, John (Maureen), Ginny Miller (Duane), and is also survived by 14 grandchildren, two step-grandchildren, and her twin sister, Helen Mills. Relatives and friends are invited to greet the family at St. John the Evangelist Anglican Church, 1150 Bristol Road, Churchville, Pa., 18966 on Tuesday, January 24 at 10 am, followed by her service at 11 am. MARY "WALSH" WRIGHT (nee Walsh), December 8, 2011, of East Falls. Beloved wife of the late Bruce R. Dear mother of John C. Also survived by many special friends and neighbors. Walsh ws often seen in the neighborhood walking a furry black dog. She was an active volunteer with the East Falls House Tour and East Falls Garden Tour. She created the Garden Dig at the Falls of Schuylill Library which developed into the outdoor reading room that we have today. She was a member of the Friends of McMichael Park and Pennsylvania Horticultural Society and a blue ribbon winner for many years at the Philadelphia Flower Show. Memorial service will be held at the Vesper Boat Club, John B. Kelly Jr. Memorial Boathouse, 10 Kelly Drive, Philadelphia, PA 19130 at 11 am on Thursday, December 15, 2011.
